Jonathan Heller researched, selected, and arranged the items for this list and wrote these introductory remarks in 1990. The selected photographs are in the public domain and have no Use Restrictions. The images included in this list are only available in black and white. The National Archives Identifier number is linked to the online catalog where a digitized file of the photograph will be available for download. This information is followed by the local identification number and the National Archives Identifier number (NAID). Photographers, artists, locations, and dates, when known, are also included. Original captions are in quotation marks. Pictures are listed by subject and campaign. Others were selected from the records of 12 additional agencies. Most are from the records of the Army Signal Corps (Record Group 111), Department of the Navy (Record Group 80), Coast Guard (Record Group 26), Marine Corps (Record Group 127), and the Office of War Information (Record Group 208). The pictures described in this list are from the holdings of the Still Picture Branch (RRSS) of the National Archives and Records Administration. On the home front, the many federal war agencies produced and collected pictures, posters, and cartoons on such subjects as war production, rationing, and civilian relocation. Every activity of the war was depicted-training, combat, support services, and much more. ![]() American military photographers representing all of the armed services covered the battlefronts around the world. Early in 2019, I contributed six prints to an exhibition titled "Kings and Queens" and the Fourms team is back talking about holding another Fourms exhibition.General Douglas MacArthur wades ashore during initial landings at Leyte, Philippine Islands. In 2017, I had a second exhibition which was in collaboration with three fellow photographers and the exhibition titled "fourms" showcased the beauty of the human form, shape, the beauty of both men and women. ![]() In 2016 I had my first solo exhibition titled "exposed" which showcased my men and everything else that I do with my photography. In 2015, I contributed three images to the local Men On Men art exhibition/competition and one of my photos won first prize and was described as a perfect example of a photo showcasing masculinity, and right there and then I was hooked on exhibiting my work. I love capturing male beauty, sexiness, sexuality, sensuality and since I love abstract art then abstract photography is also a part of what I love doing and especially when it leaves people wondering what it is they are looking at. Around ten years ago, I did my first art nude shoot and photographing men has become a real passion and even though I photograph both male and female models, I mainly concentrate on photographing men. ![]()
